DOCTORAL AND MASTERS FELLOWSHIPS / АСПИРАНТУРА И МАГИСТРАТУРА
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
3 PHD POSITIONS
starting 1 April 2017
Following the popular waves of Islamic resurgence, state-sponsored Islamic bureaucracies have become influential societal actors in Southeast Asia, particularly in countries where Muslim populations play a significant political role. The governments of Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore have in diverse ways empowered ‘administrative’ bodies to guide Islamic discourse. Although their approaches, motivations and spheres of influence differ widely, they share the intention to formalize classificatory schemes of Islam and create binding rules for engaging in public communication about it. The Junior Research Group will investigate the bureaucratization of Islam and its socio-legal dimensions from an anthropological perspective, with a particular focus on the state's exercise of ‘classificatory power’ and its actual workings on the micro-level. The project argues that the bureaucratization of Islam far transcends the boundaries of its institutions. Focusing on diverse empirical contexts, the group will scrutinize how the imposition of formalized schemes of Islam – a transformation of Islam into the codes and procedures of bureaucracy – has socio-legal consequences that penetrate deeply into public discourse and the everyday lives of various affected social actors. The project also asks how the bureaucracies’ classificatory practices and micro-politics of power resonate with social realities among the wider population and how social actors actively react to them, always with the intention of going beyond unidirectional ‘cause–effect models’ that overstate the power of official policies. Conceptually, the project treats the bureaucratization of Islam not just descriptively as an empirical fact, but as a larger analytic phenomenon to be theorized in comparative perspective. Grounded in long-term fieldwork, focusing on actors' perspectives and positioned in anthropological debates, the project intends to generate a new, ethnographically grounded understanding of contemporary Islamic discourse in the context of state power in Southeast Asia, with implications beyond the region.
Your Profile
Interested applicants should submit a research proposal addressing this conceptual framework. They may, for example, propose ethnographic case studies of particular state- or semi-state-based Islamic institutions and analyze their ‘inner life’ vis-à-vis their socio-legal environment. They may also investigate the bureaucracies’ classificatory practices by conducting fieldwork among social actors who are directly affected by them. The project is open to any creative ideas and proposed field settings within Southeast Asia, and will support the PhD candidates in establishing initial contacts in their field sites. Although PhD candidates can choose whether to concentrate their empirical research on the bureaucracies themselves or on affected social actors, or approach the topic from another angle (e.g., by conducting an ‘ethnography of documents’), the group shares the intention of viewing the workings of Islamic bureaucracy from the inside to the extent that this is possible for anthropologists. The PhD candidates are free to use methods they consider appropriate, but are expected to apply ethnographic approaches. The three PhD projects will be conducted in a collaborative and reflexive relationship to each other throughout each phase of their production, using various group work formats and deliberative exchange.
Applicants should demonstrate a strong commitment to teamwork, be open to critical feedback, and be willing to position their individual research within a shared meta-conceptual framework. The project’s design requires its members to be highly motivated to finalize a fast-track, structured PhD project within three years, with a rather heavy, constant workload. Excellent academic writing and communication skills in English are essential. In addition, applicants should have intermediate or at least basic proficiency in the language(s) necessary to conduct fieldwork in their proposed field sites, as well as a strong commitment to systematically improving these language skills through, e.g., intense language training prior to and during fieldwork. Proven knowledge of, and ideally first-hand practical experience with qualitative research methods, particularly ethnographic methods, is desirable.
Candidates from disciplines other than Anthropology are encouraged to apply, but must credibly demonstrate the intention and ability to centrally integrate anthropological methods and questions into their project. Applicants should hold a Master’s degree in Anthropology or other relevant disciplines (e.g. Area Studies, Islamic Studies, Sociology, Cultural Studies, Socio-Legal Studies, Media Studies). Applicants from Southeast Asia are encouraged to consider conducting research in a country in the region other than their country of origin.
Our Offer
The PhD positions are awarded for three years. We expect our PhD students to complete an 11 months period of fieldwork over two stays in Southeast Asia as part of their studies.
The workplace is Halle/Saale (Sachsen-Anhalt, Germany), except when undertaking field research.
POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIPS / ПОСТДОК
POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH FELLOWSHIPS
Call for proposals: Postdoc Research Fellowships
Lessons and Legacies of Conflict Moderation: Insights from the Cold War
The Berliner Kolleg Kalter Krieg | Berlin Center for Cold War Studies is a joint project of the Hamburg Institute for Social Research, the Institute of Contemporary History Munich-Berlin, the Federal Foundation for the Study of the Communist Dictatorship in Eastern Germany and the Humboldt University Berlin. It is a place of international scholarly exchange and the continuing development of historiographic research devoted to the Cold War. It focuses on international and inter-German relations, the perception and management of conflicts, the history of emotions, the Cold War’s impact on societies and sciences in East and West and the culture of remembrance that has emerged since 1990. The Center carries out independent projects, promotes German and international scholars through fellowships and offers public lectures, conferences and exhibitions.
The research interests of the Berliner Kolleg Kalter Krieg | Berlin Center for Cold War Studies are particularly directed at the theme of “Grenzen des Kalten Krieges | Compromising the Cold War“. Not the least, this focus refers to the limits of perceptions of order and patterns of thinking. What could be said and done under the conditions of the Cold War? When, why and under what conditions were entrenched modes of political thinking crossed, undermined or completely suspended? Who were the actors? What lines could be shifted, and how far?
This approach lends itself to various fields of research. In foreign and security policy the view is drawn to diplomatic negotiations as well as disarmament and detente initiatives; it is equally productive for analyzing the Cold War’s societal, intellectual and economic histories: Which actors tested, undermined or overcame the borders of the Cold War? The question here is not only to what extent their initiatives and practices helped soften solidified fronts, but also what other benefits they yielded. All in all, investigating the frontiers of the Cold War promises new insights into the ambivalence, contradictions and multi-fractured dynamics of this era.
Postdoc Research Fellowships
Lessons and Legacies of Conflict Moderation:
Insights from the Cold War
For the upcoming academic year (October 1, 2017 to September 30, 2018) the Berlin Center for Cold War Studies will award postdoctoral research fellowships to emerging and established scholars in the field of history. You may apply either for a six or a twelve months fellowship.
The 2017/2018 scholarships will be awarded to applicants with a special interest in the history of conflict moderation during the Cold War. When and by which means did conflict moderation succeed or fail? Who was involved? What were the intellectual and political guidelines, where did they originate, who sponsored them? Was there a mutual relation or impact between civil society-actors and professional diplomats? Which conflicts were moderated, which ignored? Are these modes of conflict moderation of any relevance for the post-Cold War world? Historians of international relations, of the history of détente and arms control, of cultural affairs and the history of ideas are encouraged to submit their applications.
Fellows will be granted the opportunity to launch or complete a major, independent scholarly project and, if needed, to conduct research in German and Berlin archives. The grant will not be awarded for the completion of dissertation manuscripts.
We presuppose that all applicants are willing to cooperate with colleagues from the participating institutions (Hamburg Institute for Social Research, the Institute of Contemporary History Munich-Berlin, the Federal Foundation for the Study of the Communist Dictatorship in Eastern Germany and the Humboldt University Berlin). Fellows are also expected during their stay in Berlin to give a public lecture on their topic. If they are staying for twelve months, they are also requested to host a non-public workshop on an issue related to their project.
Fellowship Benefits
Fellowships carry a monthly award of € 2,200.00. If required, a monthly allowance of € 400.00 is added for family / children, which might partially be allocated for the rent.
Fellows must reside in Berlin. An apartment will be provided if they are not from Berlin. Travel costs (air/rail) to arrive in and depart from Berlin will be covered. Also covered are mobility costs for public transportation and visits to archives within Germany totaling max. € 450.00 monthly as well as research costs totaling max. € 100.00 monthly.
The Center assumes that fellows are given leave without pay by their home institutions for the duration of the fellowship. The Center explicitly welcomes offers by researchers’ home institutions to participate in financing the stay in Berlin. In this case, details on the manner and amount of possible financing are kindly requested.
The partners of the Center are devoted to a balanced gender ratio in all their personnel decisions. For this reason, we are principally encouraging women to answer our job postings. In addition, all partners are dedicated to the further improvement of a balanced family and professional life. Disabled applicants with equal qualification and aptitude will be given preferential consideration.
Аннотации проектов.
Требования к кандидатам на исследовательские позиции указаны в конкретных проектах.
Проект 1. Модели политической риторики в литературных и исторических памятниках античности и раннего средневековья.
В современном западном антиковедении и медиевистике политический дискурс историко-литературных текстов ¬ одно из приоритетных и бурно развивающихся направлений исследования. В отечественной науке эта область представлена явно недостаточно – в том числе из-за предубеждения по отношению к однобокой трактовке данной проблемы в советской традиции, где литературные тексты, философские воззрения и т.п. трактовались исключительно как отражение общественных отношений или политических взглядов отдельных авторов и социальных групп. В настоящем проекте предполагается принципиально иной подход, направленный на выявление устойчивых и повторяющихся моделей представления и обсуждения политической топики, которые, с одной стороны, становятся важнейшими организующими принципами построения и интерпретации самих литературных и исторических текстов, а с другой, влияют на реальные политические дискуссии и принятие политических решений.
Путем анализа и комментирования текстов различных жанров, относящихся к различным историческим периодам, предполагается показать, что в античности и раннем средневековье
- различные формы исторической и литературной словесности являлись одним из важнейших способов формирования и моделирования актуальной политики;
- литература воспринималась как обязательный элемент концепции сильного государства;
- основные риторические модели представления политической проблематики оставались едиными вплоть до перехода от античности к средневековью, что отразилось в преемственности основной топики, ключевых образов, системы аргументации и т.д.
На основе разбора конкретных памятников античной и средневековой словесности предполагается:
а) выявить примеры прямого и непрямого политического дискурса, показать особенности их соотношения (в частности, принципиальную неоднозначность прямых политических «рекомендаций»);
б) показать связь (также не всегда прямую и однозначную) официальной государственной идеологии и ее представления в литературных и исторических текстах, возможные варианты их взаимного влияния;
в) обнаружить механизмы соотнесения теоретических риторических установок и их практической реализации в литературных текстах;
г) подготовить полноценный историко-культурный и литературный комментарий к ряду античных текстов («Эдип-царь» Софокла, «Метаморфозы» Овидия)
Руководитель проекта: доктор филологических наук, руководитель лаборатории античной культуры ШАГИ РАНХиГС, зав. кафедрой классической филологии РГГУ Николай Павлович Гринцер.
Требования к кандидатам:
Мы заинтересованы в молодых исследователях, имеющих необходимую подготовку в области антиковедения. Она должна включать:
- знание древнегреческого и/или латинского языка, достаточное для чтения, анализа и комментирования оригинальных текстов.
- умение работать с электронными базами данных по антиковедению и медиевистике;
- владение как минимум одним (английский), лучше несколькими основными европейскими языками, достаточное для интенсивной работы со специальной литературой;
Конкретный профиль образования и научно-исследовательской подготовки может быть как филологическим, так и историческим, историко-культурным, философским, но при этом кандидат должен обладать вкусом и склонностью к исследованиям, основанным на изучении конкретных памятников и текстов, рассматриваемых под различными углами зрениями, в совмещении исторической, социальной, языковой и литературоведческой перспектив. К сфере научных интересов соискателей может относиться литература, история идей и политическая история Древней Греции и Рима и раннего европейского средневековья; рецепция античной культуры в Западной Европе и России.
Приветствуются:
- опыт самостоятельной исследовательской работы в областях, связанных с темой проекта;
- способности к научно-организационной деятельности (помощь в подготовке и проведении семинаров и конференций в рамках проекта).
Проект 2. Современный город в актуальных речевых жанрах, спонтанных практиках и локальных самоназваниях
Проект посвящен «актуальному фольклору», бытующему не только в форме устной («естественной») коммуникации, но также в русскоязычном сегменте интернета. Речь идет о медиазависимых фольклорных текстах, комментирующих актуальные события, об индивидуальных высказываниях различных типов и уровней, возникающих в ситуации публичной политической акции, и о контексте их бытования. Рассматривается устная и письменная культура современного мегаполиса, выраженная в вернакулярных практиках и текстах, в которых находят отражение культурная и историческая память жителей крупного города, мифологемы, верования.
Разделы темы:
• Мониторинг актуального фольклора
• Современный мегаполис в устных рассказах и неинституализированных ритуалах
• Языковой аспект локального самосознания
«Мониторинг актуального фольклора» представляет собой программу, направленную на анализ современных фольклорных текстов, которые возникают как реакция на события (социальные, политические, экономические) и опосредованно отражают точку зрения участников коммуникации, вследствие чего рецепция события, выраженная в фольклорных текстах, может иметь реальные последствия, провоцирующие участников коммуникации на те или иные действия. Одной из важных характеристик актуального фольклора является его чрезвычайно высокая продуктивность как с точки зрения количества производимых текстов, так и с точки зрения скорости текстопорождения. Для понимания механизмов и моделей, лежащих в основе этой массы текстов, необходимо, с одной стороны, изучение их в контексте тех коммуникативных ситуаций, в которых они складываются и воспроизводятся, а с другой – требуется постоянный мониторинг процесса фольклорного текстопорождения.
Планируется проверить следующие гипотезы: (1) Динамика функционирования фольклорных текстов отражает изменение установок определенных общественных групп. (2) Динамика функционирования текстов коррелирует с интенсивностью развития событий и их освещением в СМИ. (3) Актуализация тех или иных лингвистических средств в фольклорных текстах зависит от периода реакции на событие. (4) Большая часть текстов легенд и преданий о «московских местах» создаются и актуализируются в 1990-е годы – после того, как объекты становятся предметом анализа ученых. (5) Тексты, связанные с конкретными объектами распространяются в рамках процессов локального брендирования с целью коммерциализации объекта и изменения имиджа места. (6) Некоторое количество текстов, созданных русскими писателями, распространяются в сети для увеличения туристической привлекательности места.
Актуальность проекта связана с возможностью практического использования его результатов при анализе общественных, национальных и демографических процессов. Неофициальная история мегаполиса строится посредством текстов коллективных, распространяющихся в социальных сетях и форумах, и текстов индивидуальных, семейных («персональные нарративы»). Выполнение проекта позволит составить реальную картину восприятия пространства мегаполиса и его истории в устной традиции, обычаях, практиках и нарративах, выявить состояние традиции, ее структуру, факторы, влияющие на рецепцию города и его районов жителями Москвы и приезжими.
Методология, применяемая для выполнения исследовательского проекта, является авторской разработкой междисциплинарного научного коллектива. Проект предполагает сочетание методов фольклористики, антропологии, социологии и лингвистики для установления взаимосвязей между фольклорными формами, социальной реальностью и языком. Методы «полевого обследования» традиции (опрос и глубинное интервью информантов, анкетирование в Интернете, на форумах, в социальных сетях), количественный анализ текстов СМИ, качественный анализ текстов СМИ, художественной литературы и Интернета; корпусный анализ.
Руководитель проекта: Неклюдов Сергей Юрьевич, доктор филологических наук, профессор.
Кроме общей фольклорно-антропологической грамотности, специфических требований к участникам конкурса нет.
Проект 3. Структура репрезентации проблемных ситуаций различных типов.
Феноменология решения творческих задач широко известна. Описаны этапы этого процесса (H. Poincaré, 1913; G. Wallas, 1926; R. Sternberg, 1986), факторы, влияющие на его успешность (P. Oléron, 1963; K. Kotovsky, J.R. Hayes, H.A. Simon, 1985), состав процессов решения (С.Л. Рубинштейн, 1958; А.В. Брушлинский, 1979; Ж.-Ф. Ришар, 1998), виды и функции различных интеллектуальных средств (Ж. Пиаже, 1969; И.И. Ильясов, 1992; В.В. Давыдов, 1972; В.Ф. Спиридонов, 2000), личностные и мотивационные переменные решения (О.К. Тихомиров, 1969; Х. Хекхаузен, 2001; A. Bandura, 1989). Однако структура репрезентации проблемной ситуации и ее варианты, возникающие в ходе решения разнотипных проблемных ситуаций, изучены недостаточно. Несмотря на многочисленные направления исследований (к числу наиболее известных относятся следующие: соотношение возрастных характеристик решателя с особенностями решения задач (Siegler R., Van Geert), изучение переходов в процессе решения от одного этапа к другому (Granott N., Fisher K.W.), анализ немыслительных механизмов, участвующих в нахождении решения (Anderson J.R., Koedinger K.R.), возможность управления решателем своими познавательными действиями через понимание своих возможностей (Flavell J.)), изучение представления решателю структуры задачи весьма редки.
Целью программы в целом является корпусное и экспериментальное исследование особенностей репрезентации проблемных ситуаций различных типов. Подобный подход предполагает вычленение и анализ плохо осознаваемых форм знания в ходе решения. Экспериментальная часть программы будет опираться на методы и подходы, сформулированные в работах В.Ф. Спиридонова (Спиридонов, 2006, 2013, 2014).
В рамках серии исследований предполагается:
а) Проанализировать ряд разномодальных составных частей (видов знаний), входящих в структуру репрезентации проблемной ситуации на разных стадиях решения (включая моторные, перцептивные и концептуальные составляющие);
б) Проанализировать формы репрезентации разнотипных проблемных ситуаций;
в) Разработать и апробировать методы эмпирического и эксперимен-тального анализа репрезентации проблемных ситуаций различных типов.
Как в процессе, так и по итогам выполнения проекта предполагается публикация статей в российских и зарубежных реферируемых научных изданиях и доклады на российских и международных конференциях.
Руководитель темы: Спиридонов В.Ф., доктор психологических наук, профессор, руководитель Лаборатории когнитивных исследований ИОН РАНХиГС, 89165071790, vfspiridonov@yandex.ru
Требования к соискателям: знание английского, достаточное для чтения научных статей по теме.
Проект 4. Разработка словарно-энциклопедических структур для описания понятийной картины мира традиционных цивилизаций Востока.
На сегодняшний день не существует более наглядного способа конкретизации результатов изучения классического наследия мировых цивилизаций, чем представления их в «энциклопедическом» формате. Словарная форма подачи материала, при которой толкование ключевых (и не только) концептов той или иной культуры оказывается не хаотически разбросанным по отдельным научным исследованиям, комментариям и переводам, а сведенным воедино с учетом сравнительно-исторического аспекта возникновения и эволюции этих концептов, в определенном смысле представляет собой «венец» исследовательской работы филолога, историка и культуролога. Несмотря на это, сегодня ощущается острая нехватка изданий такого рода (как бумажных, так и электронных) в отечественной востоковедческой практике, хотя при надлежащем уровне разработки они могли бы пользоваться значительным успехом не только среди узких профессионалов, но и среди широкой публики (от студентов-аспирантов до представителей самых разных профессий и направлений, интересующихся «культурными матрицами» восточных цивилизаций).
В рамках исследования мы планируем решать следующие конкретные задачи, связанные общей фундаментальной целью:
(а) в области китайской филологии: исследование ряда классических памятников китайской классической и народной литературы, философии и лексикографии (включая первый крупный толковый словарь китайской иероглифики «Шовэнь цзецзы», I в. н. э.) с целью разработки анноти¬рованных электронных словарей (баз данных) по культурной, мифологической и базисно-лексической терминологии классического китайского языка;
(б) в области японской филологии: составление терминологического тезауруса, отражающего вклад классической словесности (под этим понимается сово¬купность текстов до середины XIX в.) в формирование современной культуры Японии, возникшей в результате модернизации (вестернизации) во второй половине XIX в. При составлении тезауруса в 2017 г. основной упор будет делаться на буддийскую словесность эпохи Камакура; памятник «Дзинкокуки» (XVI-XVII вв., посвященный обсуждению проблем свойств личности, характерных для тех или иных областей Японии); и, в качестве контрастивного материала, на ряд текстов XX в., отражающих идеологию «нихондзинрон» («японизм»), связанную с самоиденти¬фикацией японцев в современном пространстве;
(в) в области иранской филологии: составление словаря-тезауруса концептов иранского суфизма на базе росписи репрезентативных доктринальных и поэти¬ческих текстов классической эпохи.
Основные ожидаемые результаты исследования: (а) ввод в научный обиход и раскрытие исторической значимости классических текстов китайской, японской, иранской цивилизаций, ранее недоступных отечест¬вен¬ным читателям и специалистам; (б) апробация новых словарных структур для описания древних языков, учитывающих основные дости¬же¬ния современной лингвистической теории; (в) разработка методо-логии построения «культурного тезауруса» для отдельно взятой подобласти той или иной восточной культуры (принципы отбора материала, построения метаязыка опи-сания, детализации комментария и т. п.).
Руководитель темы: Старостин Георгий Сергеевич, доц., к.ф.н., директор Лаборатории востоковедения и сравнительно-исторического языкознания ШАГИ РАНХиГС.
Требования к кандидатам:
— хотя бы минимальный опыт работы с классическими письменными памятниками Китая, Японии или Ирана;
— знание на продвинутом уровне хотя бы одного классического языка (древне-китайский, классический японский / персидский);
— желательно (но не обязательно) наличие публикаций по классическому востоковедению;
— обязательно владение английским языком на уровне подготовки докладов на конференциях и статей для международных изданий.
Проект 5. Фигуры умолчания в историческом воображении XVII – XIX вв.
Идея фальсификации истории, в последнее десятилетие будоражащая общественное сознание, связана с определенным представлением об этой дисциплине, о ее достоинствах и недостатках, которыми в равной степени объясняется, почему ей можно или нельзя доверять. Аналогичные эпистемологические проблемы были характерны для XVI – XVII вв., когда европейское историческое сознание (и знание) переживало один из первых серьезных кризисов, во многом похожий на современный. Это позволяет исследовать принципы возникновения и функционирования подобных явлений за пределами актуального контекста, на примере исторических и околоисторических жанров XVII – XIX вв., преимущественно европейского происхождения. В рамках проекта предполагается изучение механизмов недоверия к истории, и порождаемых им популярных мифологем, в частности, риторической фигуры «молчания истории», и других способов передачи ощущения неполноты исторического знания, и так же способов компенсации этой воображаемой недостачи. Для этого ставятся следующие задачи:
анализ основных риторических приемов, воспринимаемых как фигуры умолчания, и сравнение из с реальными историческими пробелами (т.е. информационными лакунами);
анализ механики заполнения исторических «пустот» и особенностей конструирования объяснительных исторических сюжетов («нарративизация» и «фикционализация» истории);
рассмотрение функции «тайны», «скрытой информации» и проч. для восприятия исторического повествования.
изучение роли исторического воображения в конструировании романного повествования (функции исторического романа XVII – XIX вв.).
Руководитель проекта: Неклюдова Мария Сергеевна, Ph.D., заведующая кафедрой культурологии и социальной коммуникации ИОН РАНХиГС.
Требования к кандидатам:
- специализация по истории (истории культуры) раннего Нового времени, с углубленным знанием одной из европейских культур (включая русскую);
- свободное чтение научной литературы на английском языке; желательно знание латыни.
- наличие научных публикаций по теме исследования.
Проект 6. Социокультурное моделирование новых сообществ в театре и в перформативных практиках XX – XXI вв.».
На протяжении XX века социально ориентированные театральные практики имели нестабильный культурный статус, то считаясь «художественным авангардом», то оказываясь вытесненными в область «самодеятельности». Соответственно, их программные тексты могли реализовываться в виде художественных манифестов, или же методических пособий, инструкций и проч. Эта институциональная двойственность препятствовала комплексному рассмотрению социально ориентированных театральных практик, несмотря на их безусловную генетическую близость. В рамках проекта предлагается отказаться от сложившейся культурной «архивации» информации, и взглянуть на это явление с точки зрения культурной антропологии (театра) и социальной истории (искусств). В качестве объекта исследования выбраны экспериментальные театральные формы, балансирующие между «школой», «кружком» и «сектой» (скажем, как это было с первой студией МХТ или с театром Гротовского). В российской культурной ситуации выделяется несколько зон повышенной социально-театральной активности: 1910-1920, 1960-1970 гг., 1985-2000 гг. и современность. Что не исключает рассмотрения ряда образцовых казусов, связанных с другими культурными пространствами (Гротовский, Living Theatre, Rimini Protokoll, и проч.). Проэкт ставит перед собой следующие задачи:
• определение основных теоретических параметров, необходимых для конституирования нового предмета исследования;
• описание и анализ конкретных утопических моделей, задающих параметры существования театральных студий, и их преломления в художественной практике;
• анализ исторической эволюции студийных моделей на протяжении XX в. и соответствующего изменения социальных и культурных ожиданий.
• определение корреляции форматов социального и художественного конструирования, т.е. соотношения внесценической и сценической модели социума.
Руководитель проекта: Лидерман Юлия Геннадиевна, к.кульрологии, старший научный сотрудник лаборатории историко-культурных исследований ШАГИ.
Требования к кандидатам:
- опыт участия в исследованиях перформативных практик и знакомство с современными теориями.
- свободное чтение научной литературы на английском языке.
- наличие публикаций по теме исследования.
Проект 7. Космический проект в российских и американских медиа: динамика формирования общественного мнения.
Тема космических достижений в последние годы снова возвращается в верхние строки политической повестки дня. В США от того, как будет с помощью медиа формироваться общественное мнение в отношении исследований космоса, напрямую зависят государственные бюджеты космических программ, масштабы привлечения частных инвестиций и коммерческие перспективы космического туризма. В России, в связи с особенностями формирования общественного мнения при помощи медиа, такой прямой зависимости нет, в то же время, современные космические достижения становятся важной частью формирования как внешнеполитического, так внутреннего, построенного на ностальгических нарративах, образа страны.
Изучение того, как освещалась космическая гонка 1950-1970 гг в США и России, позволяет выявить возникновение новых политических тем и риторических инструментов, помогающих преодолеть противоречие между важной для обеих сторон логикой противостояния двух систем и глобальным характером задач освоения космоса. Важным аспектом исследования является также проблема популяризации специализированного научного знания и визуализации недосягаемого для человеческого взгляда мира (визуализация ненаблюдаемых объектов).
Исследование посвящено как текстовым, так и визуальным репрезентациям темы освоения космоса на первых этапах космической гонки и на ее современном этапе. Источниками исследования будут не только публикации в СМИ, но и другие формы астрофотографии, а также научно-фантастическая, научно-популярная и детская литература. В исследовании предполагается применять компьютерные методы обработки источников. Научная литература, используемая в качестве теоретической основы исследования, распадается на четыре большие группы: литература, посвященная особенностям космической фотографии; статьи, в которых рассматриваются технологии компьютерного анализа культурных данных; литература, посвященная популяризации научных достижений и конструированию естественнонаучного дискурса в публичном пространстве; статьи и монографии, посвященные истории и культуре середины ХХ века, необходимые для реконструкции контекста исследования.
Основная цель исследования: изучить, как и под влиянием каких факторов (политические установки, медийные форматы и т.п) в 50-70 гг. прошлого века формировался один из ключевых публичных нарративов ХХ – XXI вв – нарратив о космических достижениях и развитии космической отрасли, каково его влияние на освещение достижений мировой науки в середине ХХ века и каким образом этот нарратив воспроизводится на современном этапе космической гонки.
Руководитель темы: Лапина-Кратасюк Екатерина Георгиевна, канд. культурологии, доцент, старший научный сотрудник лаборатории историко-культурных исследований ШАГИ, доцент факультета коммуникаций, медиа и дизайна НИУ ВШЭ, науч ный руководитель программ «Медиаменеджмент» и «Urban Studies” МВШСЭН.
Требования к кандидатам:
- знание английского языка, достаточное для написания научных статей.
Приветствуется:
- умение работать в архивах;
- опыт в проведении компьютерного анализа текстов и изображений.
DOCTORAL AND MASTERS FELLOWSHIPS / АСПИРАНТУРА И МАГИСТРАТУРА
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
3 PHD POSITIONS
starting 1 April 2017
Following the popular waves of Islamic resurgence, state-sponsored Islamic bureaucracies have become influential societal actors in Southeast Asia, particularly in countries where Muslim populations play a significant political role. The governments of Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore have in diverse ways empowered ‘administrative’ bodies to guide Islamic discourse. Although their approaches, motivations and spheres of influence differ widely, they share the intention to formalize classificatory schemes of Islam and create binding rules for engaging in public communication about it. The Junior Research Group will investigate the bureaucratization of Islam and its socio-legal dimensions from an anthropological perspective, with a particular focus on the state's exercise of ‘classificatory power’ and its actual workings on the micro-level. The project argues that the bureaucratization of Islam far transcends the boundaries of its institutions. Focusing on diverse empirical contexts, the group will scrutinize how the imposition of formalized schemes of Islam – a transformation of Islam into the codes and procedures of bureaucracy – has socio-legal consequences that penetrate deeply into public discourse and the everyday lives of various affected social actors. The project also asks how the bureaucracies’ classificatory practices and micro-politics of power resonate with social realities among the wider population and how social actors actively react to them, always with the intention of going beyond unidirectional ‘cause–effect models’ that overstate the power of official policies. Conceptually, the project treats the bureaucratization of Islam not just descriptively as an empirical fact, but as a larger analytic phenomenon to be theorized in comparative perspective. Grounded in long-term fieldwork, focusing on actors' perspectives and positioned in anthropological debates, the project intends to generate a new, ethnographically grounded understanding of contemporary Islamic discourse in the context of state power in Southeast Asia, with implications beyond the region.
Your Profile
Interested applicants should submit a research proposal addressing this conceptual framework. They may, for example, propose ethnographic case studies of particular state- or semi-state-based Islamic institutions and analyze their ‘inner life’ vis-à-vis their socio-legal environment. They may also investigate the bureaucracies’ classificatory practices by conducting fieldwork among social actors who are directly affected by them. The project is open to any creative ideas and proposed field settings within Southeast Asia, and will support the PhD candidates in establishing initial contacts in their field sites. Although PhD candidates can choose whether to concentrate their empirical research on the bureaucracies themselves or on affected social actors, or approach the topic from another angle (e.g., by conducting an ‘ethnography of documents’), the group shares the intention of viewing the workings of Islamic bureaucracy from the inside to the extent that this is possible for anthropologists. The PhD candidates are free to use methods they consider appropriate, but are expected to apply ethnographic approaches. The three PhD projects will be conducted in a collaborative and reflexive relationship to each other throughout each phase of their production, using various group work formats and deliberative exchange.
Applicants should demonstrate a strong commitment to teamwork, be open to critical feedback, and be willing to position their individual research within a shared meta-conceptual framework. The project’s design requires its members to be highly motivated to finalize a fast-track, structured PhD project within three years, with a rather heavy, constant workload. Excellent academic writing and communication skills in English are essential. In addition, applicants should have intermediate or at least basic proficiency in the language(s) necessary to conduct fieldwork in their proposed field sites, as well as a strong commitment to systematically improving these language skills through, e.g., intense language training prior to and during fieldwork. Proven knowledge of, and ideally first-hand practical experience with qualitative research methods, particularly ethnographic methods, is desirable.
Candidates from disciplines other than Anthropology are encouraged to apply, but must credibly demonstrate the intention and ability to centrally integrate anthropological methods and questions into their project. Applicants should hold a Master’s degree in Anthropology or other relevant disciplines (e.g. Area Studies, Islamic Studies, Sociology, Cultural Studies, Socio-Legal Studies, Media Studies). Applicants from Southeast Asia are encouraged to consider conducting research in a country in the region other than their country of origin.
Our Offer
The PhD positions are awarded for three years. We expect our PhD students to complete an 11 months period of fieldwork over two stays in Southeast Asia as part of their studies.
The workplace is Halle/Saale (Sachsen-Anhalt, Germany), except when undertaking field research.
The Max Planck Society strives to employ more persons with disabilities and explicitly encourages applications. Furthermore, the Max Planck Society is committed to raising the proportion of women in underrepresented fields; we thus explicitly encourage applications by women.

POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIPS / ПОСТДОК
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH FELLOWSHIPS
Call for proposals: Postdoc Research Fellowships
Lessons and Legacies of Conflict Moderation: Insights from the Cold War
The Berliner Kolleg Kalter Krieg | Berlin Center for Cold War Studies is a joint project of the Hamburg Institute for Social Research, the Institute of Contemporary History Munich-Berlin, the Federal Foundation for the Study of the Communist Dictatorship in Eastern Germany and the Humboldt University Berlin. It is a place of international scholarly exchange and the continuing development of historiographic research devoted to the Cold War. It focuses on international and inter-German relations, the perception and management of conflicts, the history of emotions, the Cold War’s impact on societies and sciences in East and West and the culture of remembrance that has emerged since 1990. The Center carries out independent projects, promotes German and international scholars through fellowships and offers public lectures, conferences and exhibitions.
The research interests of the Berliner Kolleg Kalter Krieg | Berlin Center for Cold War Studies are particularly directed at the theme of “Grenzen des Kalten Krieges | Compromising the Cold War“. Not the least, this focus refers to the limits of perceptions of order and patterns of thinking. What could be said and done under the conditions of the Cold War? When, why and under what conditions were entrenched modes of political thinking crossed, undermined or completely suspended? Who were the actors? What lines could be shifted, and how far?
This approach lends itself to various fields of research. In foreign and security policy the view is drawn to diplomatic negotiations as well as disarmament and detente initiatives; it is equally productive for analyzing the Cold War’s societal, intellectual and economic histories: Which actors tested, undermined or overcame the borders of the Cold War? The question here is not only to what extent their initiatives and practices helped soften solidified fronts, but also what other benefits they yielded. All in all, investigating the frontiers of the Cold War promises new insights into the ambivalence, contradictions and multi-fractured dynamics of this era.
Postdoc Research Fellowships
Lessons and Legacies of Conflict Moderation:
Insights from the Cold War
For the upcoming academic year (October 1, 2017 to September 30, 2018) the Berlin Center for Cold War Studies will award postdoctoral research fellowships to emerging and established scholars in the field of history. You may apply either for a six or a twelve months fellowship.
The 2017/2018 scholarships will be awarded to applicants with a special interest in the history of conflict moderation during the Cold War. When and by which means did conflict moderation succeed or fail? Who was involved? What were the intellectual and political guidelines, where did they originate, who sponsored them? Was there a mutual relation or impact between civil society-actors and professional diplomats? Which conflicts were moderated, which ignored? Are these modes of conflict moderation of any relevance for the post-Cold War world? Historians of international relations, of the history of détente and arms control, of cultural affairs and the history of ideas are encouraged to submit their applications.
Fellows will be granted the opportunity to launch or complete a major, independent scholarly project and, if needed, to conduct research in German and Berlin archives. The grant will not be awarded for the completion of dissertation manuscripts.
We presuppose that all applicants are willing to cooperate with colleagues from the participating institutions (Hamburg Institute for Social Research, the Institute of Contemporary History Munich-Berlin, the Federal Foundation for the Study of the Communist Dictatorship in Eastern Germany and the Humboldt University Berlin). Fellows are also expected during their stay in Berlin to give a public lecture on their topic. If they are staying for twelve months, they are also requested to host a non-public workshop on an issue related to their project.
Fellowship Benefits
Fellowships carry a monthly award of € 2,200.00. If required, a monthly allowance of € 400.00 is added for family / children, which might partially be allocated for the rent.
Fellows must reside in Berlin. An apartment will be provided if they are not from Berlin. Travel costs (air/rail) to arrive in and depart from Berlin will be covered. Also covered are mobility costs for public transportation and visits to archives within Germany totaling max. € 450.00 monthly as well as research costs totaling max. € 100.00 monthly.
The Center assumes that fellows are given leave without pay by their home institutions for the duration of the fellowship. The Center explicitly welcomes offers by researchers’ home institutions to participate in financing the stay in Berlin. In this case, details on the manner and amount of possible financing are kindly requested.
The partners of the Center are devoted to a balanced gender ratio in all their personnel decisions. For this reason, we are principally encouraging women to answer our job postings. In addition, all partners are dedicated to the further improvement of a balanced family and professional life. POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH FELLOWSHIPS
Institution Type: Other
Location: Germany
Position: Post-Doctoral Fellow
Call for proposals: Postdoc Research Fellowships
Lessons and Legacies of Conflict Moderation:
Insights from the Cold War
The Berliner Kolleg Kalter Krieg | Berlin Center for Cold War Studies is a joint project of the Hamburg Institute for Social Research, the Institute of Contemporary History Munich-Berlin, the Federal Foundation for the Study of the Communist Dictatorship in Eastern Germany and the Humboldt University Berlin. It is a place of international scholarly exchange and the continuing development of historiographic research devoted to the Cold War. It focuses on international and inter-German relations, the perception and management of conflicts, the history of emotions, the Cold War’s impact on societies and sciences in East and West and the culture of remembrance that has emerged since 1990. The Center carries out independent projects, promotes German and international scholars through fellowships and offers public lectures, conferences and exhibitions.
The research interests of the Berliner Kolleg Kalter Krieg | Berlin Center for Cold War Studies are particularly directed at the theme of “Grenzen des Kalten Krieges | Compromising the Cold War“. Not the least, this focus refers to the limits of perceptions of order and patterns of thinking. What could be said and done under the conditions of the Cold War? When, why and under what conditions were entrenched modes of political thinking crossed, undermined or completely suspended? Who were the actors? What lines could be shifted, and how far?
This approach lends itself to various fields of research. In foreign and security policy the view is drawn to diplomatic negotiations as well as disarmament and detente initiatives; it is equally productive for analyzing the Cold War’s societal, intellectual and economic histories: Which actors tested, undermined or overcame the borders of the Cold War? The question here is not only to what extent their initiatives and practices helped soften solidified fronts, but also what other benefits they yielded. All in all, investigating the frontiers of the Cold War promises new insights into the ambivalence, contradictions and multi-fractured dynamics of this era.
Postdoc Research Fellowships
Lessons and Legacies of Conflict Moderation:
Insights from the Cold War
For the upcoming academic year (October 1, 2017 to September 30, 2018) the Berlin Center for Cold War Studies will award postdoctoral research fellowships to emerging and established scholars in the field of history. You may apply either for a six or a twelve months fellowship.
The 2017/2018 scholarships will be awarded to applicants with a special interest in the history of conflict moderation during the Cold War. When and by which means did conflict moderation succeed or fail? Who was involved? What were the intellectual and political guidelines, where did they originate, who sponsored them? Was there a mutual relation or impact between civil society-actors and professional diplomats? Which conflicts were moderated, which ignored? Are these modes of conflict moderation of any relevance for the post-Cold War world? Historians of international relations, of the history of détente and arms control, of cultural affairs and the history of ideas are encouraged to submit their applications.
Fellows will be granted the opportunity to launch or complete a major, independent scholarly project and, if needed, to conduct research in German and Berlin archives. The grant will not be awarded for the completion of dissertation manuscripts.
We presuppose that all applicants are willing to cooperate with colleagues from the participating institutions (Hamburg Institute for Social Research, the Institute of Contemporary History Munich-Berlin, the Federal Foundation for the Study of the Communist Dictatorship in Eastern Germany and the Humboldt University Berlin). Fellows are also expected during their stay in Berlin to give a public lecture on their topic. If they are staying for twelve months, they are also requested to host a non-public workshop on an issue related to their project.
Fellowship Benefits
Fellowships carry a monthly award of € 2,200.00. If required, a monthly allowance of € 400.00 is added for family / children, which might partially be allocated for the rent.
Fellows must reside in Berlin. An apartment will be provided if they are not from Berlin. Travel costs (air/rail) to arrive in and depart from Berlin will be covered. Also covered are mobility costs for public transportation and visits to archives within Germany totaling max. € 450.00 monthly as well as research costs totaling max. € 100.00 monthly.
The Center assumes that fellows are given leave without pay by their home institutions for the duration of the fellowship. The Center explicitly welcomes offers by researchers’ home institutions to participate in financing the stay in Berlin. In this case, details on the manner and amount of possible financing are kindly requested.
The partners of the Center are devoted to a balanced gender ratio in all their personnel decisions. For this reason, we are principally encouraging women to answer our job postings. In addition, all partners are dedicated to the further improvement of a balanced family and professional life. Disabled applicants with equal qualification and aptitude will be given preferential consideration.
Аннотации проектов.
Требования к кандидатам на исследовательские позиции указаны в конкретных проектах.
Проект 1. Модели политической риторики в литературных и исторических памятниках античности и раннего средневековья.
В современном западном антиковедении и медиевистике политический дискурс историко-литературных текстов ¬ одно из приоритетных и бурно развивающихся направлений исследования. В отечественной науке эта область представлена явно недостаточно – в том числе из-за предубеждения по отношению к однобокой трактовке данной проблемы в советской традиции, где литературные тексты, философские воззрения и т.п. трактовались исключительно как отражение общественных отношений или политических взглядов отдельных авторов и социальных групп. В настоящем проекте предполагается принципиально иной подход, направленный на выявление устойчивых и повторяющихся моделей представления и обсуждения политической топики, которые, с одной стороны, становятся важнейшими организующими принципами построения и интерпретации самих литературных и исторических текстов, а с другой, влияют на реальные политические дискуссии и принятие политических решений.
Путем анализа и комментирования текстов различных жанров, относящихся к различным историческим периодам, предполагается показать, что в античности и раннем средневековье
- различные формы исторической и литературной словесности являлись одним из важнейших способов формирования и моделирования актуальной политики;
- литература воспринималась как обязательный элемент концепции сильного государства;
- основные риторические модели представления политической проблематики оставались едиными вплоть до перехода от античности к средневековью, что отразилось в преемственности основной топики, ключевых образов, системы аргументации и т.д.
На основе разбора конкретных памятников античной и средневековой словесности предполагается:
а) выявить примеры прямого и непрямого политического дискурса, показать особенности их соотношения (в частности, принципиальную неоднозначность прямых политических «рекомендаций»);
б) показать связь (также не всегда прямую и однозначную) официальной государственной идеологии и ее представления в литературных и исторических текстах, возможные варианты их взаимного влияния;
в) обнаружить механизмы соотнесения теоретических риторических установок и их практической реализации в литературных текстах;
г) подготовить полноценный историко-культурный и литературный комментарий к ряду античных текстов («Эдип-царь» Софокла, «Метаморфозы» Овидия)
Руководитель проекта: доктор филологических наук, руководитель лаборатории античной культуры ШАГИ РАНХиГС, зав. кафедрой классической филологии РГГУ Николай Павлович Гринцер.
Требования к кандидатам:
Мы заинтересованы в молодых исследователях, имеющих необходимую подготовку в области антиковедения. Она должна включать:
- знание древнегреческого и/или латинского языка, достаточное для чтения, анализа и комментирования оригинальных текстов.
- умение работать с электронными базами данных по антиковедению и медиевистике;
- владение как минимум одним (английский), лучше несколькими основными европейскими языками, достаточное для интенсивной работы со специальной литературой;
Конкретный профиль образования и научно-исследовательской подготовки может быть как филологическим, так и историческим, историко-культурным, философским, но при этом кандидат должен обладать вкусом и склонностью к исследованиям, основанным на изучении конкретных памятников и текстов, рассматриваемых под различными углами зрениями, в совмещении исторической, социальной, языковой и литературоведческой перспектив. К сфере научных интересов соискателей может относиться литература, история идей и политическая история Древней Греции и Рима и раннего европейского средневековья; рецепция античной культуры в Западной Европе и России.
Приветствуются:
- опыт самостоятельной исследовательской работы в областях, связанных с темой проекта;
- способности к научно-организационной деятельности (помощь в подготовке и проведении семинаров и конференций в рамках проекта).
Проект 2. Современный город в актуальных речевых жанрах, спонтанных практиках и локальных самоназваниях
Проект посвящен «актуальному фольклору», бытующему не только в форме устной («естественной») коммуникации, но также в русскоязычном сегменте интернета. Речь идет о медиазависимых фольклорных текстах, комментирующих актуальные события, об индивидуальных высказываниях различных типов и уровней, возникающих в ситуации публичной политической акции, и о контексте их бытования. Рассматривается устная и письменная культура современного мегаполиса, выраженная в вернакулярных практиках и текстах, в которых находят отражение культурная и историческая память жителей крупного города, мифологемы, верования.
Разделы темы:
• Мониторинг актуального фольклора
• Современный мегаполис в устных рассказах и неинституализированных ритуалах
• Языковой аспект локального самосознания
«Мониторинг актуального фольклора» представляет собой программу, направленную на анализ современных фольклорных текстов, которые возникают как реакция на события (социальные, политические, экономические) и опосредованно отражают точку зрения участников коммуникации, вследствие чего рецепция события, выраженная в фольклорных текстах, может иметь реальные последствия, провоцирующие участников коммуникации на те или иные действия. Одной из важных характеристик актуального фольклора является его чрезвычайно высокая продуктивность как с точки зрения количества производимых текстов, так и с точки зрения скорости текстопорождения. Для понимания механизмов и моделей, лежащих в основе этой массы текстов, необходимо, с одной стороны, изучение их в контексте тех коммуникативных ситуаций, в которых они складываются и воспроизводятся, а с другой – требуется постоянный мониторинг процесса фольклорного текстопорождения.
Планируется проверить следующие гипотезы: (1) Динамика функционирования фольклорных текстов отражает изменение установок определенных общественных групп. (2) Динамика функционирования текстов коррелирует с интенсивностью развития событий и их освещением в СМИ. (3) Актуализация тех или иных лингвистических средств в фольклорных текстах зависит от периода реакции на событие. (4) Большая часть текстов легенд и преданий о «московских местах» создаются и актуализируются в 1990-е годы – после того, как объекты становятся предметом анализа ученых. (5) Тексты, связанные с конкретными объектами распространяются в рамках процессов локального брендирования с целью коммерциализации объекта и изменения имиджа места. (6) Некоторое количество текстов, созданных русскими писателями, распространяются в сети для увеличения туристической привлекательности места.
Актуальность проекта связана с возможностью практического использования его результатов при анализе общественных, национальных и демографических процессов. Неофициальная история мегаполиса строится посредством текстов коллективных, распространяющихся в социальных сетях и форумах, и текстов индивидуальных, семейных («персональные нарративы»). Выполнение проекта позволит составить реальную картину восприятия пространства мегаполиса и его истории в устной традиции, обычаях, практиках и нарративах, выявить состояние традиции, ее структуру, факторы, влияющие на рецепцию города и его районов жителями Москвы и приезжими.
Методология, применяемая для выполнения исследовательского проекта, является авторской разработкой междисциплинарного научного коллектива. Проект предполагает сочетание методов фольклористики, антропологии, социологии и лингвистики для установления взаимосвязей между фольклорными формами, социальной реальностью и языком. Методы «полевого обследования» традиции (опрос и глубинное интервью информантов, анкетирование в Интернете, на форумах, в социальных сетях), количественный анализ текстов СМИ, качественный анализ текстов СМИ, художественной литературы и Интернета; корпусный анализ.
Руководитель проекта: Неклюдов Сергей Юрьевич, доктор филологических наук, профессор.
Кроме общей фольклорно-антропологической грамотности, специфических требований к участникам конкурса нет.
Проект 3. Структура репрезентации проблемных ситуаций различных типов.
Феноменология решения творческих задач широко известна. Описаны этапы этого процесса (H. Poincaré, 1913; G. Wallas, 1926; R. Sternberg, 1986), факторы, влияющие на его успешность (P. Oléron, 1963; K. Kotovsky, J.R. Hayes, H.A. Simon, 1985), состав процессов решения (С.Л. Рубинштейн, 1958; А.В. Брушлинский, 1979; Ж.-Ф. Ришар, 1998), виды и функции различных интеллектуальных средств (Ж. Пиаже, 1969; И.И. Ильясов, 1992; В.В. Давыдов, 1972; В.Ф. Спиридонов, 2000), личностные и мотивационные переменные решения (О.К. Тихомиров, 1969; Х. Хекхаузен, 2001; A. Bandura, 1989). Однако структура репрезентации проблемной ситуации и ее варианты, возникающие в ходе решения разнотипных проблемных ситуаций, изучены недостаточно. Несмотря на многочисленные направления исследований (к числу наиболее известных относятся следующие: соотношение возрастных характеристик решателя с особенностями решения задач (Siegler R., Van Geert), изучение переходов в процессе решения от одного этапа к другому (Granott N., Fisher K.W.), анализ немыслительных механизмов, участвующих в нахождении решения (Anderson J.R., Koedinger K.R.), возможность управления решателем своими познавательными действиями через понимание своих возможностей (Flavell J.)), изучение представления решателю структуры задачи весьма редки.
Целью программы в целом является корпусное и экспериментальное исследование особенностей репрезентации проблемных ситуаций различных типов. Подобный подход предполагает вычленение и анализ плохо осознаваемых форм знания в ходе решения. Экспериментальная часть программы будет опираться на методы и подходы, сформулированные в работах В.Ф. Спиридонова (Спиридонов, 2006, 2013, 2014).
В рамках серии исследований предполагается:
а) Проанализировать ряд разномодальных составных частей (видов знаний), входящих в структуру репрезентации проблемной ситуации на разных стадиях решения (включая моторные, перцептивные и концептуальные составляющие);
б) Проанализировать формы репрезентации разнотипных проблемных ситуаций;
в) Разработать и апробировать методы эмпирического и эксперимен-тального анализа репрезентации проблемных ситуаций различных типов.
Как в процессе, так и по итогам выполнения проекта предполагается публикация статей в российских и зарубежных реферируемых научных изданиях и доклады на российских и международных конференциях.
Руководитель темы: Спиридонов В.Ф., доктор психологических наук, профессор, руководитель Лаборатории когнитивных исследований ИОН РАНХиГС, 89165071790, vfspiridonov@yandex.ru
Требования к соискателям: знание английского, достаточное для чтения научных статей по теме.
Проект 4. Разработка словарно-энциклопедических структур для описания понятийной картины мира традиционных цивилизаций Востока.
На сегодняшний день не существует более наглядного способа конкретизации результатов изучения классического наследия мировых цивилизаций, чем представления их в «энциклопедическом» формате. Словарная форма подачи материала, при которой толкование ключевых (и не только) концептов той или иной культуры оказывается не хаотически разбросанным по отдельным научным исследованиям, комментариям и переводам, а сведенным воедино с учетом сравнительно-исторического аспекта возникновения и эволюции этих концептов, в определенном смысле представляет собой «венец» исследовательской работы филолога, историка и культуролога. Несмотря на это, сегодня ощущается острая нехватка изданий такого рода (как бумажных, так и электронных) в отечественной востоковедческой практике, хотя при надлежащем уровне разработки они могли бы пользоваться значительным успехом не только среди узких профессионалов, но и среди широкой публики (от студентов-аспирантов до представителей самых разных профессий и направлений, интересующихся «культурными матрицами» восточных цивилизаций).
В рамках исследования мы планируем решать следующие конкретные задачи, связанные общей фундаментальной целью:
(а) в области китайской филологии: исследование ряда классических памятников китайской классической и народной литературы, философии и лексикографии (включая первый крупный толковый словарь китайской иероглифики «Шовэнь цзецзы», I в. н. э.) с целью разработки анноти¬рованных электронных словарей (баз данных) по культурной, мифологической и базисно-лексической терминологии классического китайского языка;
(б) в области японской филологии: составление терминологического тезауруса, отражающего вклад классической словесности (под этим понимается сово¬купность текстов до середины XIX в.) в формирование современной культуры Японии, возникшей в результате модернизации (вестернизации) во второй половине XIX в. При составлении тезауруса в 2017 г. основной упор будет делаться на буддийскую словесность эпохи Камакура; памятник «Дзинкокуки» (XVI-XVII вв., посвященный обсуждению проблем свойств личности, характерных для тех или иных областей Японии); и, в качестве контрастивного материала, на ряд текстов XX в., отражающих идеологию «нихондзинрон» («японизм»), связанную с самоиденти¬фикацией японцев в современном пространстве;
Проект 5. Фигуры умолчания в историческом воображении XVII – XIX вв.
Идея фальсификации истории, в последнее десятилетие будоражащая общественное сознание, связана с определенным представлением об этой дисциплине, о ее достоинствах и недостатках, которыми в равной степени объясняется, почему ей можно или нельзя доверять. Аналогичные эпистемологические проблемы были характерны для XVI – XVII вв., когда европейское историческое сознание (и знание) переживало один из первых серьезных кризисов, во многом похожий на современный. Это позволяет исследовать принципы возникновения и функционирования подобных явлений за пределами актуального контекста, на примере исторических и околоисторических жанров XVII – XIX вв., преимущественно европейского происхождения. В рамках проекта предполагается изучение механизмов недоверия к истории, и порождаемых им популярных мифологем, в частности, риторической фигуры «молчания истории», и других способов передачи ощущения неполноты исторического знания, и так же способов компенсации этой воображаемой недостачи. Для этого ставятся следующие задачи:
анализ основных риторических приемов, воспринимаемых как фигуры умолчания, и сравнение из с реальными историческими пробелами (т.е. информационными лакунами);
анализ механики заполнения исторических «пустот» и особенностей конструирования объяснительных исторических сюжетов («нарративизация» и «фикционализация» истории);
рассмотрение функции «тайны», «скрытой информации» и проч. для восприятия исторического повествования.
изучение роли исторического воображения в конструировании романного повествования (функции исторического романа XVII – XIX вв.).
Руководитель проекта: Неклюдова Мария Сергеевна, Ph.D., заведующая кафедрой культурологии и социальной коммуникации ИОН РАНХиГС.
Требования к кандидатам:
- специализация по истории (истории культуры) раннего Нового времени, с углубленным знанием одной из европейских культур (включая русскую);
- свободное чтение научной литературы на английском языке; желательно знание латыни.
- наличие научных публикаций по теме исследования.
Проект 6. Социокультурное моделирование новых сообществ в театре и в перформативных практиках XX – XXI вв.».
На протяжении XX века социально ориентированные театральные практики имели нестабильный культурный статус, то считаясь «художественным авангардом», то оказываясь вытесненными в область «самодеятельности». Соответственно, их программные тексты могли реализовываться в виде художественных манифестов, или же методических пособий, инструкций и проч. Эта институциональная двойственность препятствовала комплексному рассмотрению социально ориентированных театральных практик, несмотря на их безусловную генетическую близость. В рамках проекта предлагается отказаться от сложившейся культурной «архивации» информации, и взглянуть на это явление с точки зрения культурной антропологии (театра) и социальной истории (искусств). В качестве объекта исследования выбраны экспериментальные театральные формы, балансирующие между «школой», «кружком» и «сектой» (скажем, как это было с первой студией МХТ или с театром Гротовского). В российской культурной ситуации выделяется несколько зон повышенной социально-театральной активности: 1910-1920, 1960-1970 гг., 1985-2000 гг. и современность. Что не исключает рассмотрения ряда образцовых казусов, связанных с другими культурными пространствами (Гротовский, Living Theatre, Rimini Protokoll, и проч.). Проэкт ставит перед собой следующие задачи:
• определение основных теоретических параметров, необходимых для конституирования нового предмета исследования;
• описание и анализ конкретных утопических моделей, задающих параметры существования театральных студий, и их преломления в художественной практике;
• анализ исторической эволюции студийных моделей на протяжении XX в. и соответствующего изменения социальных и культурных ожиданий.
• определение корреляции форматов социального и художественного конструирования, т.е. соотношения внесценической и сценической модели социума.
Руководитель проекта: Лидерман Юлия Геннадиевна, к.кульрологии, старший научный сотрудник лаборатории историко-культурных исследований ШАГИ.
Требования к кандидатам:
- опыт участия в исследованиях перформативных практик и знакомство с современными теориями.
- свободное чтение научной литературы на английском языке.
- наличие публикаций по теме исследования.
Проект 7. Космический проект в российских и американских медиа: динамика формирования общественного мнения.
Тема космических достижений в последние годы снова возвращается в верхние строки политической повестки дня. В США от того, как будет с помощью медиа формироваться общественное мнение в отношении исследований космоса, напрямую зависят государственные бюджеты космических программ, масштабы привлечения частных инвестиций и коммерческие перспективы космического туризма. В России, в связи с особенностями формирования общественного мнения при помощи медиа, такой прямой зависимости нет, в то же время, современные космические достижения становятся важной частью формирования как внешнеполитического, так внутреннего, построенного на ностальгических нарративах, образа страны.
Изучение того, как освещалась космическая гонка 1950-1970 гг в США и России, позволяет выявить возникновение новых политических тем и риторических инструментов, помогающих преодолеть противоречие между важной для обеих сторон логикой противостояния двух систем и глобальным характером задач освоения космоса. Важным аспектом исследования является также проблема популяризации специализированного научного знания и визуализации недосягаемого для человеческого взгляда мира (визуализация ненаблюдаемых объектов).
Исследование посвящено как текстовым, так и визуальным репрезентациям темы освоения космоса на первых этапах космической гонки и на ее современном этапе. Источниками исследования будут не только публикации в СМИ, но и другие формы астрофотографии, а также научно-фантастическая, научно-популярная и детская литература. В исследовании предполагается применять компьютерные методы обработки источников. Научная литература, используемая в качестве теоретической основы исследования, распадается на четыре большие группы: литература, посвященная особенностям космической фотографии; статьи, в которых рассматриваются технологии компьютерного анализа культурных данных; литература, посвященная популяризации научных достижений и конструированию естественнонаучного дискурса в публичном пространстве; статьи и монографии, посвященные истории и культуре середины ХХ века, необходимые для реконструкции контекста исследования.
Основная цель исследования: изучить, как и под влиянием каких факторов (политические установки, медийные форматы и т.п) в 50-70 гг. прошлого века формировался один из ключевых публичных нарративов ХХ – XXI вв – нарратив о космических достижениях и развитии космической отрасли, каково его влияние на освещение достижений мировой науки в середине ХХ века и каким образом этот нарратив воспроизводится на современном этапе космической гонки.
Руководитель темы: Лапина-Кратасюк Екатерина Георгиевна, канд. культурологии, доцент, старший научный сотрудник лаборатории историко-культурных исследований ШАГИ, доцент факультета коммуникаций, медиа и дизайна НИУ ВШЭ, науч ный руководитель программ «Медиаменеджмент» и «Urban Studies” МВШСЭН.
Требования к кандидатам:
- знание английского языка, достаточное для написания научных статей.
Приветствуется:
- умение работать в архивах;
- опыт в проведении компьютерного анализа текстов и изображений.
