45 NEW POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIPS ANNOUNCED
The British Academy has awarded 45 new Postdoctoral Fellowships to start in Autumn 2015, based at a range of different UK universities. These three year Fellowships – spanning research topics from the econometrics of Climate Change to the Graphic Novel in South Africa – enable exceptional early career scholars to complete a landmark research project and fulfil their outstanding potential by giving them the best opportunity to build a long and successful academic career in the Humanities and Social Sciences.

PENN HUMANITIES FORUM ANDREW W. MELLON POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIPS IN USA, 2016-2017
Applications are invited for Forum Andrew W. Mellon Postdoctoral Fellowships from junior scholars to undertake research in the area of humanities. Fellowships are awarded to scholars who are no more than eight years out of their doctorate and who are not yet tenured (may not be tenured during the fellowship year). Scholars are required to spend the year (September–May) in residence at Penn. During their year in residence, Fellows pursue their own research, are required to teach one undergraduate seminar during the year, and must also participate in the Forum’s weekly Mellon Research Seminar. The application deadline is October 15, 2015.
Study Subject(s): Fellowships are awarded in the area of humanities to research on Translation.
Course Level: Fellowships are available for junior scholars to undertake research. Fellows teach one undergraduate course in addition to conducting their research.

Scholarship can be taken at: USA
Eligibility:
-The PhD is the only eligible terminal degree (MFAs and other doctorates such as EdD are ineligible). Humanists and those in related fields (e.g., anthropology, history of science) are eligible to apply. Exclusions are proposals in social science disciplines, educational curriculum building, and work by performing artists (n.b., scholars of performance are eligible).
-Scholars who received or will receive their PhD between December 2007 and December 2015 are eligible to apply. You must have your degree in hand or have passed your defense no later than December 2015 to be eligible. Your application will not be considered unless this condition is met (i.e., you are ineligible to apply if you will defend or otherwise submit your dissertation anytime in 2016).
Scholarship Open for International Students: Penn Humanities ForumThe fellowship is open to all scholars, national and international, who meet application terms.
Scholarship Description: The Penn Humanities Forum awards five (5) one-year Andrew W. Mellon Postdoctoral Fellowships each academic year to junior scholars in the humanities who are no more than eight years out of their doctorate and who are not yet tenured (may not be tenured during the fellowship year). Scholars are required to spend the year (September–May) in residence at Penn.
Number of award(s): The Penn Humanities Forum awards five (5) fellowships to the applicants.
Duration of award(s): The duration of fellowship is one year.
What does it cover? The Fellowship carries an annual stipend of $46,500 plus single-coverage health insurance (fellows are responsible for coverage for any dependents) and a $2500 research fund. Fellows teach one undergraduate course in addition to conducting their research.
Selection Criteria: In selecting fellows, the Forum aims for a balanced mix of recent Ph.D.s and more seasoned tenure-track faculty (who do not yet have tenure). Preference will be given to candidates whose proposals are interdisciplinary, who have not previously enjoyed use of the resources of the University of Pennsylvania, and who would particularly benefit from and contribute to Penn’s intellectual life.
Notification: Awards are announced in late December 2015.

КОНКУРС 2015 ГОДА НА СОИСКАНИЕ ГОДОВЫХ СТИПЕНДИЙ ГЕРМАНСКОГО ИСТОРИЧЕСКОГО ИНСТИТУТА ДЛЯ АСПИРАНТОВ И ДОКТОРАНТОВ
Германский исторический институт в Москве (ГИИМ) объявляет конкурс на годовую стипендию для аспирантов и докторантов, занимающихся российской/украинской/белорусской/советской историей и историей других постсоветских государств, а также историей германо-российских/советских отношений. Стипендия предполагает работу над заявленной темой в течение 12 месяцев в московских или санкт-петербургских библиотеках и архивах.
В качестве исключения годовая стипендия может быть поделена между лучшими заявками.
Заявки принимаются от граждан любых стран. ГИИМ рассчитывает на активное участие стипендиатов в научно-исследовательской работе института.
Размеры стипендии и условия ее предоставления см. в Порядке предоставления стипендий .
К заявлению должны быть приложены следующие документы:
Краткая информация о теме диссертации и уже проделанной по данной теме работе (2-3 стр.)
Обоснование необходимости Вашего пребывания в Москве (какие библиотеки, архивные фонды, научные учреждения Вы собираетесь посетить и т.п.) (1-2 стр.)
Рекомендация научного руководителя (или другого ученого-специалиста в данной области) (не более 1 стр.)

ГРАНТЫ 2016-2017 (СТИПЕНДИИ) ДЛЯ ОБУЧЕНИЯ И УЧАСТИЯ В ИССЛЕДОВАТЕЛЬСКИХ ПРОЕКТАХ В ШВЕЙЦАРИИ
Правительство Швейцарии предоставляет на учебный год 2016-2017 учебный год следующие виды стипендий для российских граждан:
Исследовательские стипендии
Исследовательские стипендии в размере 1920.00 CHF ежемесячно присуждаются на 12 месяцев и не могут быть продлены. Кандидаты должны быть не старше 35 лет (дата рождения после 01.01.1980) и иметь магистерскую степень (минимум).
Стипендии на обучение в аспирантуре (PhD)
Стипендии на обучение в аспирантуре Швейцарии (PhD) в размере 1920.00 CHF ежемесячно присуждаются на 3 года. Кандидаты должны быть не старше 35 лет (дата рождения после 01.01.1980) и иметь магистерскую степень (минимум).
Постдокторские стипендии
Стипендии в размере 3500.00 CHF ежемесячно для проведения постдокторского исследования присуждаются на 12 месяцев с возможностью продления на 6 месяцев. Заявки кандидатов должны быть поданы не позднее 5 лет после присуждения степени кандидата наук (PhD).
Стипендии по специальностям, связанным с искусством, для обучения в магистратуре или проведения исследования в творческих университетах и консерваториях
Стипендии на обучение в магистратуре в Швейцарии или для проведения исследования для кандидатов творческих специальностей в размере 1920.00 CHF. Кандидаты должны быть не старше 35 лет (дата рождения после 01.01.1980) и иметь бакалаврскую степень (минимум).
Приоритеты стипендиальной программы
Определенный приоритет имеют заявки на стипендию в рамках программы сотрудничества между родным учебным заведением и выбранным в Швейцарии университетом/институтом.

CIMO FELLOWSHIPS FOR INTERNATIONAL DOCTORAL STUDENTS IN FINLAND, 2015-2016
Applications are invited for CIMO fellowship programme available for students and researchers from all countries and from all academic fields to pursue doctoral studies at a Finnish university. Visiting Doctoral-level students and researchers who are doing their Doctorate degree at some foreign university can also be considered eligible, provided that the motivation letter of the hosting Finnish university department presents exceptionally good grounds for such an application. The grant is 1,500 euro/month. The grant is personal and is intended to cover for the subsistence costs of the scholarship holder in Finland. Additional support for accommodation will not be paid nor will CIMO pay travel or visa / residence permit expenses. Trips abroad to collect research materials cannot be included in the scholarship period. Applications must be submitted at least 5 months before the proposed scholarship period.

Scholarship Provider: The Centre for International Mobility (CIMO)
Scholarship can be taken at: Finland
Eligibility:
-The primary target groups in the CIMO Fellowships programme are such Doctoral level students who will be doing their Doctorate (or Double Doctorate) at a Finnish university. Visiting Doctoral-level students and researchers who are doing their Doctorate degree at some foreign university can also be considered eligible, provided that the motivation letter of the hosting Finnish university department presents exceptionally good grounds for such an application.
-The programme is open for applicants from all countries. However, when decisions on scholarship are made, emphasis is given to applicants from Russia, China, India, Chile, Brazil and North America.
Scholarship Open for International Students: International students (emphasis is given to applicants from Russia, China, India, Chile, Brazil and North America) can apply for these CIMO fellowships.
Scholarship Description: The Centre for International Mobility CIMO awards scholarships for foreign Doctoral level students and young researchers to carry out postgraduate studies and research and teaching in Finnish universities. Scholarships are mainly targeted at those Doctoral level students who will be doing their whole Doctorate or Double Doctorate at a Finnish university. Visiting Doctoral level students and researchers who are doing their Doctorate degree at some foreign university can also be considered eligible, provided that the motivation letter of the hosting Finnish university department presents exceptionally good grounds for such an application. (rf. Annex 1. Applicant’s motivation letter). The scholarship holder cannot receive another full scholarship nor salary with a CIMO grant.
Number of award(s): Not Known
Duration of award(s): The scholarship period may last from 3 to 12 months. The period may be extended only in exceptional cases. Visits shorter than 3 months will not be funded.
What does it cover? The grant is 1,500 euro/month. The grant is personal and is intended to cover for the subsistence costs of the scholarship holder in Finland. Additional support for accommodation will not be paid nor will CIMO pay travel or visa / residence permit expenses. Trips abroad to collect research materials cannot be included in the scholarship period.

Notification: Decisions will be made within approximately 3 months after receipt of application.
How to Apply: The prerequisite for applying is that the visiting researcher must have established contacts with a Finnish host university. If a Finnish university is willing to host you, then the Finnish university department wishing to host you can apply to CIMO for the grant on your behalf. In other words, only the hosting Finnish university can act as an “applicant” in the CIMO Fellowship programme. Applications should be submitted on the attached CIMO Fellowships application form, which should be filled in electronically, printed and signed. Two copies of the application with required attachments should be submitted to CIMO. Please mark the envelope with “CIMO Fellowships”. The following attachments are required:
-A motivation letter from the applicant (the hosting university), max 1 page
-Complete CV of the scholarship candidate
-Research plan (3-5 pages)
Scholarship Application Deadline: There are no annual application deadlines in the CIMO Fellowship programme. Applications may be considered at all times. However, please note that applications should be submitted at least 5 months before the intended scholarship period.

EYES HIGH DOCTORAL STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS AT UNIVERSITY OF CALGARY IN CANADA, 2015
Eyes High Doctoral Recruitment Scholarship is available for full-time doctoral studies at the University of Calgary. Scholarship is open to both Canadian and International students for a maximum tenure of 4 years. Scholarship worth $25,000.00 p.a. for Canadian citizens and permanents residents and $30,000.00 p.a. for international students. The application deadline is 30th September 2015.
Study Subject(s): Scholarship is awarded for studying the subjects offered by the university.
Course Level: Scholarship is available for pursuing full-time doctoral studies at the University of Calgary.
Scholarship Provider: University of Calgary
Scholarship can be taken at: Canada
Eligibility:
-Canadian and International students are eligible. Award holders must be registered full time with the Faculty of Graduate Studies.
-Leaders in Medicine students are not eligible for funding during MD studies
-The successful applicant will be an outstanding student. Applicants must have a GPA of 3.5/4.0 in their last two years of their prior degree (BSc, MSc) and be otherwise eligible for entry into the graduate programme at the University of Calgary.
-Applications should be submitted to Tiz Reiter (below). In conjunction with Dr. Newton, the successful candidate will need to formulate a proposal and provide a nomination package for approval by the University.
Scholarship Open for International Students: Canadian and International students are eligible are eligible to apply for this scholarship.
Scholarship Description: All graduate awards administered by the Faculty of Graduate Studies (FGS), including those disbursed on behalf of external granting agencies, are governed by the Policy on Graduate Student Support through Scholarships and Awards and regulations.
Duration of award(s): The Eyes High Doctoral Recruitment Scholarship (EHDRS) is offered for a maximum tenure of 4 years.
What does it cover?
-$25,000.00 p.a. Canadian citizens and permanents residents
-$30,000.00 p.a. International students
-Students funded through the Eyes High Recruitment Scholarship are required to apply for all provincial, national or international scholarships they are eligible for. Students who win external awards will have their Eyes High award adjusted as follows:
-Students winning one or more external awards totaling $8,000 or less will hold the full Eyes High award.
-Students winning one or more awards totaling $8,001 up to the value of the Eyes High will have the Eyes High adjusted for a combined total of $33,000 for Canadian or permanent residents; $38,000 for international.
-Canadian or permanent residents winning one or more awards totaling $33,001 or higher will receive an $8,000 Eyes High top-up; international students winning one or more awards totaling $38,001 will receive an $8,000 Eyes High top-up
-Students funded through the Eyes High Recruitment Scholarship are not eligible to hold University of Calgary or Queen Elizabeth II scholarships.
